Cedar Family Care is a family-run, founder-led company rooted in St. Louis. We started here with one belief that still guides every visit: that growing older at home should feel safe, warm, and dignified.
How Cedar began
Started by people who'd already seen the industry.
Before Cedar was a company, our founders were already working in home care, and saw a quality problem no one around them was fixing.
Our founders spent years working inside the home care industry in St. Louis. What they saw from the inside was frustrating: agencies focused on growth and margins ahead of the quality of care, caregivers who came and went because they weren’t supported, and clients treated like a line on a schedule instead of a person.
So they built the company they wished existed. Cedar Family Care opened its doors with a small, hand-picked team and a simple standard: send caregivers we’d trust in our own mother’s home, and treat every family the way we’d want to be treated on the hardest day.
We're a private-pay, non-medical home care company, not a Medicare or Medicaid agency, which means every caregiver's time goes toward the person in front of them, not paperwork or billing codes.
We’re still small, still family-run, and still founder-led. That's by design: it's how we keep the promise below, and it's how we intend to grow.
