Cedar Family Care is a founder-led company rooted in St. Louis. We started here with one belief that still guides every visit: that growing older at home should feel safe, warm, and dignified.
How Cedar began
Rooted in Care.
We all have someone like this: someone who loved us unconditionally, who always had a story to tell, and whose words somehow made more sense as we grew older.
For us, that was our grandparents.
In their later years, they lived with frail health and dementia. Watching them decline was difficult, and losing them was even harder.
But we were fortunate. Our family stayed close, and so did the caregivers who helped care for them. They were patient, compassionate, and dependable, the kind of people who gradually begin to feel like family themselves.
Seeing our grandparents cared for with such kindness taught us something we have never forgotten: who shows up at someone’s door matters.
Every family deserves to feel confident that the person entering their loved one’s home will treat them with dignity, patience, and genuine care.
Between us, we have built careers in education, frontline human services, software development, and home care. Through that work, we came to understand just how meaningful dependable, compassionate care can be, not only for the person receiving it, but for the entire family.
So, we built the company we wished every family could have, guided by one simple rule:
We only send caregivers we would trust in the home of someone we love.
We are still small, founder-led, and close enough to know our clients and caregivers by name. That closeness helps us protect the promise at the heart of everything we do, no matter how much we grow.

That is the whole idea, really. Everything else on this page, and everything we do, is simply our way of keeping that promise, day after day.
