A documented assessment
Every plan starts with a real, point-based assessment, not a guess, and it's written around one person's routines and wishes.
What we do
From a few hours of companionship to around‑the‑clock support, we tailor care to exactly what your loved one needs today, and adjust it as that changes, without handing you off to someone new. One coordinator and a stable team of caregivers you know, built around the person in front of us.
How we work
Whatever level of support you choose: how we plan it, who provides it, and who you call when something's off.
Every plan starts with a real, point-based assessment, not a guess, and it's written around one person's routines and wishes.
We match once, carefully, for skill and personality, then we don't rotate strangers through your home.
You call one person who already knows the situation. Never a new voice starting from zero, day or night.
Our services
Six ways we help, on their own or woven together. Not sure where your family fits? A free consultation is the simplest way to find out.
Hands‑on help with the daily routines that keep someone clean, comfortable, and safe, always delivered with patience and an eye for dignity. For many families this is where care begins, when the everyday tasks start to feel like too much.
Sometimes the greatest need isn't physical. It's a friendly face, a steady presence, and someone to share the day with. Our companions keep loneliness at bay while quietly handling the errands and light tasks that make home run smoothly.
Memory loss from Alzheimer's or dementia asks for a special kind of patience. Our caregivers are trained to bring calm, structure, and gentle redirection, meeting your loved one where they are, and giving the whole family a safer, steadier day.
Family caregivers give so much, and they need rest to keep giving. Whether it's an afternoon, a weekend, or a week away, we step in seamlessly so you can recharge, travel, or simply catch your breath, knowing your loved one is in caring hands.
When your loved one shouldn't be alone, day or night, we provide continuous, attentive support at home. Whether through rotating shifts or a dedicated live‑in caregiver, there's always someone there for the moments that can't wait.
The first weeks home after a hospital or rehab stay are when setbacks happen most. We make that transition safe: following discharge instructions, keeping recovery on track, and easing the load so healing can happen where it's most comfortable.

Common questions
A few of the things families most want to know. Have another question? We're always happy to talk it through.
Cost depends on the plan: how many hours each week, the level of care, and whether it's daytime, overnight, or live‑in. Companion visits are the most affordable; 24‑hour and specialized care cost more.
After your free consultation we'll give you a clear, written estimate with no surprises. There's never a charge to talk it through and understand your options.
Yes. Private duty care requires a minimum shift of 4 hours, at least 3 shifts a week. That minimum gives a caregiver enough time to do things unhurried and well, and keeps scheduling manageable for everyone. From there, families scale up as needs change. We'll recommend what makes sense for your situation, never more than you need.
We match on two things: skill and personality. First we make sure a caregiver has the right experience for your loved one's needs. Then we look for the right human fit, the temperament and interests that help a genuine connection form.
If the match ever isn't right, tell us. We'll adjust until it feels like family.
Yes. The care plan can change at the request of the client or their responsible party, whether that's adding hours after a hospital stay or easing back as someone regains strength. Before any change takes effect, we complete a reassessment to make sure the requested care can be provided safely, for both the client and our caregivers.
Yes. We accept both private pay and long‑term care insurance (LTCI). If you have an LTCI policy, we'll help verify your benefits and handle the documentation and paperwork so your coverage is put to use with as little hassle as possible. Just ask, and we'll walk you through it.
No. Cedar Family Care is a private-pay, non-medical home care company. Our caregivers provide personal care, companionship, and support with daily routines, not skilled nursing, medical treatment, or therapy. If your loved one needs medical or skilled nursing care at home, we're glad to help point you toward the right resource.
